Explosion-Proof DC Motors
STS Motors is a leading designer and manufacturer of explosion-proof motors, producing some of the earliest motors to be installed in UK mines.
Today our motors are operating world-wide in hazardous locations - typically in oil and gas pipelines, offshore production platforms, petro-chemical installations etc.
Certification
ATEX Certified Motors 0.25 - 1.5 kW.
BASEEFA Certified Motors 2 - 15 kW.
Environment
Temperature range -
Standard -20°C to + 40°C.
Extreme -40°c to + 60°C.
Protection -
Protection to IP54 as standard.
Protection to IP56 available.
Voltage Range
Our motors are designed to cover a wide speed and voltage range with particular emphasis on low voltage battery/solar panel fed motors for pump drives of 12v upwards. We also offer motors for variable speed duty for process machines handling hazardous materials.
Mounting
A full range of mounting configurations is offered including foot, flange foot/flange and pad mounting for installation in fan ducts.
Optional extras include in-line or right angle gearboxes, pumps and tacho-generators.
